What means REACH?

REACH stands for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals. This EU Regulation centralizes and simplifies chemicals legislation throughout Europe and entered into force on 1st of June 2007. The declared objective is to improve the level of knowledge about dangers and risks that chemicals may pose. Companies are expected to assume even more responsibility for the safe use of their products.

News about REACH from December 2017

Being a formulator and therefore downstream user in the scope of REACH, we are absolutely aware of our obligations towards the REACH-regulation. Epple undertakes to fully comply with the requirements of REACH, which is being realized in close cooperation with our customers and suppliers. We will make sure that you are informed in good time, in the case that a change in the circumstances may affect the continuity of your supplies.


SVHC (substances of very high concern). These are substances that are e. g. carcinogenic or toxic and simultaneously accumulate in the food chain, degrading very slowly. The first SVHC-list was published on 28 October 2008. The last update was provided on 15 th January 2018. It currently covers 181 substances.

Towards our customers we are obliged to fulfill the information requirements acc. to Art. 33 of the REACH-regulation in the case that one of the products supplied by us should contain substances of very high concern (SVHC) in a mass concentration exceeding 0,1 %.

In our own interest and to guarantee a high delivery- and product assurance, we follow the information requirement intensively. We comply with the statutory provisions of Article 33 of the REACH Act through the implementation of the following procedures:

We informed our suppliers about their information obligation. They are instructed to immediately inform us, as soon as they become aware that a product supplied to us contains a substance of very high concern in a mass concentration of more than 0,1 %

We will inform you immediately, in the case that we should receive such information from our suppliers.
