Elongation at tear
Elongation at tear
Elongation at tear or elongation at break is the potential ratio of length change ΔL (at break) to the original length L0.
Whereby:
Elongation at tear = (length change / original length) x 100
εR = (∆L/L0)x100.
The elongation at tear expresses the capability of a material to follow shape changes without cracking.
