Corona treatment

Corona treatment

Corona treatment is a high-voltage discharge performed with a voltage of between 10 and 20 kV. The high energy causes the formation of oxygen atoms and ozone molecules that have an oxidative effect on the polymer surface. This increases the surface tension, and wetting is improved. Corona treatment is a process for altering plastic, metal and paper surfaces in such a way that they are able to join with other materials such as paint, adhesive or foams.
